Also known as electrical swivels or slip rings, our commutators are available with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 15 and 18 channels. All commutators have an opening through the center to allow tubing from a fluid swivel to pass through. They are designed tobe low-current and low-voltage devices. These have been tested to levels of 100V and .08 Amps.
All single plug commutators are supplied with a live plug (red) and a dummy plug (white) on the bottom for even rotation of the rotor. Our commutators are low noise and environmentally safge. They can usually be repaired for a reasonable charge. The mechanism for conducting electrical current/signals consists of brushes and rings. All commutators have double brushes to assure unbroken continuity unless a single brush is requested to reduce torque for use with mice.
